Their Story

Talisman Brewing Company was founded in 2016 by husband-and-wife team Dusty and Joann Williams in Ogden, Utah. Dusty, an Air Force veteran who served in the Air National Guard, was an avid homebrewer for many years before deciding to pursue professional brewing. The Williamses came to Utah in 2001 and fell in love with Ogden's family-oriented, community-driven atmosphere. Neither had professional beer industry experience when they opened Talisman—Dusty worked in IT and Joann built a career in finance, sales, marketing, and human resources—but they combined their skills with Dusty's extensive homebrewing experience. When founded in 2016, Talisman became Ogden's first production brewery that didn't also include an attached restaurant, paving the way for other breweries in Northern Utah. The name "Talisman" comes from the definition of a charm that brings good luck, which they felt they would need opening a brewery with no prior professional industry experience. The brewery operates a seven-barrel brewhouse with a taproom and package agency, focusing on creating "equal opportunity drinkers" by offering something for every palate and educating customers to help them find craft beers they'll enjoy.

Great beers, very clean, AND had F1 TV on! Plus my pup was set up in front of a fan which is a plus. New fav brewery in the area!
