Their Story

Bewilder Brewing Co. was founded by childhood friends Ross Metzger and Cody McKendrick who grew up across the street from each other in South Salt Lake. Previously, the duo owned and operated Salt City Brew Supply in Midvale and Ogden City Brew Supply for about eight years, serving Utah's homebrew community. They opened their brewery on Friday, December 13, 2019, in the former Club X building at 445 S. 400 W in downtown Salt Lake City—a century-old building they spent over a year renovating. Starting on a shoestring budget with minimal investment from friends and family, they successfully launched just three months before the COVID-19 pandemic hit and navigated the challenges by focusing on to-go beer sales. The brewery name 'Bewilder' reflects the confusing process of opening a business while running another business, and incorporates 'wild' for future barrel-aged and wild fermentation projects, with 'wild' nestled inside 'beer.'

One of my best friends Kelly drug me to this place. And bought me lunch and a pint... The beer was amazing,,, the food was even better... 10 out of 10 would recommend. Staff was friendly. The service was great and it was a good atmosphere. Loved everything about it
