Their Story
Andrew Dasenbrock founded Kiitos Brewing in 2015, with the brewery opening to the public in December 2017 after overcoming development hurdles since late 2015. Named after the Finnish word for "thanks," Kiitos was built around environmental consciousness and gratitude. Located in Salt Lake City's Granary District, the brewery features one of the nation's first High-Efficiency Brewing Systems (HEBS), using 40% less water and 15-20% less grain than traditional brewing. The brewery pioneered sustainable brewing practices including pH-balanced wastewater, wind-generated electricity, and exclusive aluminum canning. In 2025, Kiitos made history by releasing the United States' first 100% Fonio beer, crafted entirely from the West African ancient grain and naturally gluten-free. The brewery expanded to a second location in Sugar House in October 2025.

Really enjoyed the beer here, plus if you sit at the bar you can see some of the mountains. The pickle/salt beer was very interesting- just not for me. We loved the pale ale and the lager.

Got a flight and really liked 4/5 of the beers! Great vibe in the building. A lot of games and pinball machines. Our bartender Jackson was amazing! Very knowledgeable and personable.
